Tyres 101: What should your pressure be and other maintenance tips

By October 15, 20192019 News

Check your tyres before you ride! That’s the message from Schwalbe as we veer towards the 2019 Bowral Classic Gran Fondo cycling event!

Not long now until you will be rolling around the Southern Highlands and we know regardless of the distance you ride you are going to have a great day.

However there’s a few things that you should do prior to riding:

  • Check your tyres for wear and tear
  • Check your tyre pressure on ride day. Rougher country roads like those found in the Southern Highlands may call for a lower psi (e.g. 90) and if conditions are wet then even lower is recommended.
  • Make sure you have tubes, gas cylinders & tyre levers

Schwalbe One clinchers or Pro-One tubeless 25’s, 28’s & 30’s  – the wider the better! Schwalbe Pro-One leads the way on the road.

It’s fast. It’s reliable. It’s light. The rolling resistance is minimal and the puncture protection is second to none.

Not sure about tubeless?  Our range of road tyres is diverse so come over to our trailer at the Event Village to talk all things rubber and to enjoy special event pricing!

We will also be checking tyre pressures for you, prior to the event.
